From 20 to 23 August 2026, the 2026 Son La Provincial Age-Group Table Tennis Championship took place at the Son La Provincial Training and Competition Centre. Tay Bac University’s team competed with a strong line-up and great determination. After days of hard-fought matches, the team earned a place in the province’s roll of honour, bringing home prestigious medals and great pride for the University.
This year’s team comprised 8 members led by Mr. Nguyen Ba Diep, Deputy Head of the Office of Political Affairs and Student Management, with 6 athletes and 1 support staff member. The team competed in 3 age groups and 6 events: men aged 15–17 (2 singles events and 1 doubles event), women aged 18–35 (2 singles and 1 doubles) and men aged 36–45 (2 singles and 1 doubles).
The efforts of the University’s coaches and athletes were rewarded with brilliant results. At the end of the championship, the team won a total of 6 medals – gold, silver and bronze.

The outstanding success at the 2026 championship not only brought honour and pride to the athletes but also reflected the close attention and support of the University’s Board of Rectors. It is a great source of encouragement for the movement of physical training and health improvement across the University to grow ever stronger.
