About the University

A public university for Northwest Viet Nam and Northern Laos

Founded in 1960 and upgraded to university status in 2001, Tay Bac University is a public higher education institution under the Ministry of Education and Training of Viet Nam, located in Son La Province. The University trains teachers, engineers, economists and specialists for the northwestern mountainous region and has long been a trusted place of study for students from the Lao PDR.
