On the afternoon of 25 August 2026, in the meeting room of the Embassy of Viet Nam in Vientiane, the Ministry’s delegation and leaders of Vietnamese universities held an important working session with representatives of the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports, the Lao–Viet Nam Cooperation Committee, the Embassy of Viet Nam in Laos and local higher education and college institutions. Before the session, the delegation solemnly offered incense in memory of President Ho Chi Minh in the Embassy grounds.
At the official session, delegates heard speeches by Mr. Nguyen Minh Tam, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Viet Nam to Laos, and representatives of the Lao Ministry of Education and Sports and the Lao–Viet Nam Cooperation Committee. Discussions focused on an overview of the Lao education system; the Lao Government’s priority policies and incentives for investment in education; and orientations for joint training and high-quality human resource development between the two countries. Tay Bac University and other Vietnamese institutions actively exchanged information and conducted surveys to understand training needs and opportunities for cooperation in teaching and research with Lao institutions.
Continuing the programme, on 26 August 2026 the delegation travelled to Champasak Province and held a working session with Champasack University.
